Community / Social Responsibility
The Thomas Kinkade Company strongly believes in active community involvement. We not only want to work in our community but we want to form an active part of the community and help bring about positive change. Both as a company and at an individual level, we support and encourage our employees to volunteer in community events.
Since 1999 The Thomas Kinkade Company, has been a proud supporter and participant in the American Heart Walk, a fundraiser for the American Heart Association. In 2002 alone Thomas Kinkade Company employees raised over $8,000, the Company matched this amount for a total donation of $16,000. The American Heart Association raises money for research and increases awareness about the number one killer in the United States, heart disease.
Time and money are just some of the valuables The Thomas Kinkade Company and its employees contribute; we also share our surplus resources with the community.
At The Thomas Kinkade Company we use mats for various product lines, it is the colored "paper" surrounding images in some of our product. Due to the dimensions of the mats we use, we often have excess mat that is too small in size to meet our purposes.
Once a week a representative from RAFT (Resource Area for Teachers), a not-for-profit organization based in San Jose, has picked up excess mats from our facility. RAFT provides resources (donated by businesses) for "hands-on" teaching materials to teachers and community programs. Teachers use the mats to provide practical mathematical applications of patterns, geometric shapes, and geometric block design.
Other community activities include regular donations to Community Solutions (a local not for profit organization for children, families and individuals), the Chamber of Commerce and the Morgan Hill Leadership Program. Through active community involvement The Thomas Kinkade Company and its employees have reached to thousands of people and will continue to reach out to make a positive impact in their lives.
